Whyte’s Estate, where legends are created.
P7 enjoyed a lovely ramble in Whyte’s Estate last week! They identified nooks and crannies and sought inspiration for their myths and legends. P7 are creating their own creatures, rooting them in our locality and providing origin stories and legends for them, to be ‘passed on’ to future generations. We’re also looking through maps of the area and comparing them with ones ranging back as far as 1600 to see how the area has changed. Building on the skills they developed working with the Geography department in New-Bridge, our future cartographers are creating “rooted-in-history” fantasy maps of the area, highlighting the stomping grounds of their heroes and villains.
Our local historical society might have difficulty separating the fact from the fiction when these myths and legends get out!
