That's a wrap! - or a Rap!
Congratulations to all of our brilliant pupils who have showcased their talents in our Christmas performances of Whoops-a-Daisy Angel and the unforgettable Carol service and class performances from KS2 on Tuesday and Thursday this week.
There is a wealth of talent at St. Francis' PS, from singing, dancing and reciting right through to our soloists; our pupils had the audiences laughing, dancing, singing and maybe even shedding a proud tear - all entirely justified! The magnitude of this achievement, in light of the previous years' school experiences as a result of the pandemic cannot be underestimated. The confidence, the joy and the comraderie were tangible in every performance as pupils helped and supported each other. We couldn't be prouder.
I would like to take the opportunity to offer my sincere thanks to our hard-working staff without whom the performances would not have been possible: our Foundation Stage and Key Stage One teachers; Miss McNally, Miss O'Brien, Mrs Trainor, Mrs MacAuley, Mr McCabe and our fabulous teaching assistants; Mrs McAvoy, Mrs Quinn, Mrs Colgan; our Key Stage Two teachers; Mrs Woods, Mr O'Malley and Mrs Cochrane and the wonderful Key Stage 2 assistants; Mrs Murphy and Miss Murphy.
Special thanks to Mr Campbell, Mr O'Malley and their assistants for setting up the stage and seating for each performance and to the PTA who did such a superb job with the raffle and helping restore our hall afterwards.
Lastly thank you to you, our parents, carers and greatest supporters. Our pupils performed beyond measure under the supportive gaze of their nearest and dearest. Thank you for supporting us in our work and supporting our school with donations, kind words of support and affirming our belief that our pupils have the potential to shine bright, with access to the right opportunities and resources.
With the sales of the tickets from our performances, the raffle undertaken by the PTA and their fundraising events to date, along with community donations, we have made superb progress on our goal of funding 3 interactive boards this year.
We hope to have them fitted in the new year and the children will reap the benefits of our community's collective effort to give our pupils the very best start at St. Francis PS, Aghaderg.
With my very sincere appreciation,
Mrs McKeown
