Aghaderg Swifts bring home gold and silver! 💪🏀⛹️♀️⛹️♂️💪
12th Mar 2024
Our P7 pupils put on a spellbinding performance today as they faced off against the brightest and best from the Belfast, Lisburn and Armagh.
Putting their 'on the job' training to the test, the girls won 3 matches and drew one putting them into the finals where they won a fast paced and very tight match against Harmony Hill to take home first place.
The boys faced off against the formidable Rockport and had a narrow loss but recovered well, going on to win against Harmony Hill and Mount St. Catherine's. An exceptionally challenging final against Largymore P.S went into extra time and sudden death with Largymore's star player stealing the last basket. Our boys gave 100%, adapted their play to suit each team they faced and evolved so much as players over the course of the blitz.
Our pupils' talents were even remarked upon by NI Basketball League scouts, who watched our teams closely! 👀
We are incredibly proud of their progress and resilience in the face of a new challenge, playing against players who have been training for years. Hopefully they have realised that they still have a world of undiscovered talents to explore!!
Well done P7!
