A visit from local author, Declan Carville.
The children in P4 were thrilled to meet and learn from Declan Carville, author of some very popular books in our class library. Declan told the class all about how he decided to become an author, where he finds inspiration for his stories and how he crafts his stories. The boys and girls loved showing Declan their paintings based on the story settings in The Magic Harp and how the story had got them thinking about their own idea of a perfect Saturday. They talked together about what they would wish for if they had been granted a wish, just like Fergal in the story. The children had lots of questions for Declan and plenty to say in their book reviews for him. Who knows, perhaps we will soon have another well known author in County Down in the years ahead! 📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚
We are very grateful to AMMA who funded this fantastic author visit for P3 and P4.
